But can you enroll and start learning even when it is the summer or in the middle of a semester? To answer this question, it is important to understand that there are several types of online college education.

There are online colleges that offer classes and courses that you can complete at your own pace. These usually include study materials and videos that are pre-recorded. The videos are then uploaded to a server where you will have access to upon enrollment.

Once you enroll in a course like this, you can start at anytime you wish. This type of course takes a lot of self-discipline and motivation. Since you can study at your own pace and your own time, there can be a lot of procrastination.

On the other hand, online courses offered by universities and Ivy League schools have a different schedule. Many of these offer a live component to the class. Because these will be taught by professors and instructors, there is a definite time and schedule when you can start.

They will also have exams and assignments due at specific times.

For online classes like these, there is a set enrollment period. If you miss it, you won’t be able to enroll for the current section of the course. You’ll have to wait for the next time it is offered.
