How is the Recipient Chosen?
The Heartland Scholarship Review Committee reads all the essays they receive from applicants. The committee then votes, and the candidate with the most votes wins a $1,000 Scholarship.
The 2nd and 3rd runners-up will each receive a $500 scholarship.
