Are you a senior in high school and interested in learning more about the Dreams to Kings and Queens Scholarship?
This scholarship was started in 2015 by Tracy Stephens in Athens, Georgia. He began designing t-shirts to sell and then invested the profits back into the community.
In a town where 34% of the population lives in poverty, Stephens aspired to give men and women support and tools to help empower them.
Dreams To Kings and Queens is aware of how challenging it can be to come up with the money necessary to pay for college costs. This is where the scholarship called “Change Starts With You” comes into play! They worked in conjunction with BLK Hiking Club to create this scholarship.

1. “Change Starts With You” by Dreams To Kings And Queens Scholarship
The foundation awards this scholarship to two deserving high school seniors.
The two recipients each receive $1,000 to go towards higher education.
Who is Eligible?
Students who fulfill the following are eligible to apply for this scholarship:
- In your Senior Year of High School
- Anticipating Completing your Senior Year of High School During the Academic Year
- Is a Person of Color
- Plans to enroll in a Community College, Career Training Program, Or Four-Year College/University in the fall
- No GPA Requirements
What to Submit in your Application
To be considered for this award, please submit an essay ranging from 500 to 1000 words. Respond to one of the following three prompts:
- How have you learned to embrace your culture?
- How do you see yourself? What has shaped your identity?
- How do you prioritize your mental health?
The last day to apply for this scholarship is April 21, 2023.
